Teddie turned 5 months old on August 26. I took her to the doctor for a weight check because she's dropped a few feedings at night (with some help from us!) and I wanted to make sure she was still on her curve. She weighed in at 12 lbs. 4 oz (2nd %ile) and was 22 and 7/8 inches long (5%ile) Our little peanut is still petite, but she's not lacking in personality!
This kid is all smiles all the time. It takes some effort to make her laugh, but she is just such content and happy baby. It is such a treat to go get her when she wakes up in the morning and she's all smiley and giggly. She is so laid back and really goes with the flow, which I am oh-so-thankful for. It's hard being a second baby, but she doesn't mind being toted around all day and loved on a little too aggressively by her brother.
Her schedule these days looks something like this:
6:30-7:00 am -- wake up, eat (usually 4 oz)
8:30ish -- nap
10:00 -- wake up, eat (4-6 oz)
12:00 -- nap
1:30 -- eat (4-6 oz)
3:30 -- nap
4:30 -- eat (4-6 oz)
6:00-6:30 pm -- bedtime (eats 4-6 oz at bedtime)
Of course, if she wakes up at 6:00 am one day, then everything gets pushed up, but it generally falls into place around these times on a daily basis. And if we're not home for one of her naps, she usually cat naps in the carseat until we get home and she can get in a good nap in her crib. And, now that Campbell is starting school on Tuesday, our schedules will be changing as Teddie will have to nap in the car seat even more than she does now. Oh well, so is the life of the second child.
On the milestone front, it's worth noting:
-- rolling over from stomach to back
-- sleeps with one arm swaddled in her crib
-- sucks her thumb!
-- makes lots of noises, and "talks" but no definitive consonant sounds yet
-- loves to play with her hands and feet
-- loves bath time
-- has quite the grip
-- thinks Cam is hilarious... she's enamored with him
-- is much happier sitting up (assisted) than lying on her back these days
Teddie enjoyed her first Michigan Game Day this weekend, too!
She is such a doll and has truly made our lives so much sweeter. It boggles my mind that she's only been with us for five months because I can't remember what life was like before her. I know that is so cliche, but whatever, it's true!

She is such a little doll!!
ReplyDeleteI feel the same way (cliche and all) that I cannot remember what our life was like before Camille joined our family. Crazy!
